The Role
We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build the systems that power our portfolio of AI-native professional services companies. You'll work on agentic workflow engines, multi-tenant backend platforms, third-party integrations, shared data infrastructure, and LLM-powered operational tools. The surface area spans multiple product domains simultaneously, requiring both technical excellence and business acumen.
We need engineers who are exceptional builders and know what to build. You'll be expected to diagnose business problems, identify the right solutions, and push back when direction is wrong. Anticipatory technical ownership is core to this role—we value engineers who think ahead and make proactive decisions without waiting to be asked.
Your First 90 Days
In your first three months, you will:
- Improve observability across multi-tenant backend services and AI workflow pipelines
- Build or enhance shared infrastructure that serves multiple portfolio companies
- Ship features ranging from agentic automation to client-facing operational tools
- Harden third-party integrations with CRMs, ERPs, and collaboration tools
- Contribute to AI agent reliability, including human-in-the-loop patterns and failure handling
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of production software engineering experience
- Strong backend development skills in Python and TypeScript
- Deep experience with PostgreSQL and asynchronous service design
- Business judgment: ability to work backward from business problems to the right technical solutions and push back when direction needs correction
- Anticipatory technical ownership: proactively identify what the business needs technically before being asked
- Experience building agentic or LLM-powered systems including multi-step agents, tool use, structured outputs, reliability patterns, and prompt engineering
- Strong integration experience with third-party APIs, event-driven architectures, and data synchronization across connected systems
- Observability expertise including structured logging, dashboards, distributed tracing, and alerting
- Agentic development workflow: daily use of tools like Claude Code or Cursor as part of your development process
- High agency, strong testing judgment, and clear communication skills
- Availability for 4+ hours of overlap with US Eastern Time
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS or shared platform architecture
- Domain expertise in finance or fintech, legal or compliance, executive operations, or HR
- Experience building AI-augmented human workflows
- Real-time voice, video, or messaging systems experience
- Experience scaling backend infrastructure across multiple products
