ROLE SUMMARY
The Showroom Presentation & Housekeeping Specialist is responsible for maintaining exceptional cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards throughout the FDE showroom and supporting store areas. This role serves as a key partner to the Visual Manager by ensuring the store environment is consistently clean, welcoming, organized, and guest-ready.
More than maintaining cleanliness, this role takes pride and ownership in the overall appearance of the store environment and understands the important role presentation plays in creating an exceptional Guest Experience. The Showroom Presentation & Housekeeping Specialist proactively identifies presentation and cleanliness needs, maintains high standards throughout the business day, and partners with the Visual team to ensure every area of the store reflects FDE's commitment to excellence.
Through attention to detail, consistency, and ownership, this role directly supports FDE's Strategic Anchors of Team Members, Guests, and Process Improvement.
Essential Functions
Showroom Cleanliness & Presentation
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards throughout all guest-facing showroom areas.
- Dust and clean furniture, accessories, displays, fixtures, and other showroom elements while protecting merchandise from damage.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, and maintain flooring and carpeted areas.
- Clean and maintain windows, glass surfaces, mirrors, doors, and other guest-facing surfaces.
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked restrooms.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of entrances, vestibules, common areas, offices, breakrooms, and Team Member spaces.
- Support the cleanliness and presentation of exterior areas, including store entrances and surrounding guest-facing areas, as assigned.
- Ensure housekeeping supplies and equipment are properly maintained, organized, and stored.
Showroom Readiness & Guest Experience
- Conduct routine walkthroughs throughout the business day to proactively identify and address cleanliness and presentation opportunities.
- Maintain a showroom environment that is consistently welcoming, organized, and guest-ready.
- Respond with urgency to spills, debris, presentation concerns, and other conditions that may negatively impact the Guest Experience or Team Member safety.
- Pay close attention to high-traffic and high-visibility areas to ensure presentation standards are consistently maintained.
- Support showroom readiness before store opening and maintain presentation standards throughout operating hours.
- Support preparation for promotional events, VIP events, holiday periods, leadership visits, and other key business initiatives.
- Understand that every area of the physical environment contributes to creating unique, personalized, memorable, and repeatable experiences for our Guests.
Visual & Store Presentation Support
- Partner with the Visual Manager and Showroom Merchandiser to maintain showroom presentation standards.
- Support cleaning and presentation needs associated with floor moves, product launches, showroom resets, and visual projects.
- Assist in preparing areas before and after furniture moves and merchandising changes.
- Ensure newly completed displays and showroom areas are clean and presentation-ready.
- Support new store openings, remodels, showroom refreshes, and special projects as assigned.
- Warehouse & Back-of-House Readiness
- Maintain cleanliness and organization standards within designated warehouse and back-of-house areas.
- Remove debris, packaging materials, and other waste from assigned areas in accordance with established processes.
- Support a safe and organized work environment by identifying and communicating cleanliness, safety, or organization concerns.
- Partner with Warehouse and Visual teams to support overall store readiness.
- Assist with general organization and presentation-related tasks as needed based on business priorities.
Team Member Environment
- Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming Team Member common areas, including breakrooms and shared spaces.
- Help create an environment where Team Members can work safely, comfortably, and effectively.
- Respond to identified cleanliness needs that impact Team Member work areas.
- Demonstrate respect for Team Members and Guests while completing housekeeping responsibilities during business hours.
Process Improvement & Safety
- Identify opportunities to improve cleaning routines, supply usage, organization, and overall efficiency.
- Use cleaning products, equipment, and supplies responsibly and in accordance with Company and manufacturer safety guidelines.
- Follow established procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and materials.
- Identify and immediately communicate safety hazards, maintenance concerns, damaged merchandise, or facility needs to the Visual Manager or appropriate partner.
- Support efforts to reduce waste and manage housekeeping supplies responsibly.
- Maintain awareness of recurring cleanliness or presentation concerns and communicate opportunities for long-term improvement.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner closely with the Visual Manager to prioritize showroom presentation and housekeeping needs.
- Collaborate with the Showroom Facilities & Maintenance Specialist to address facility conditions impacting cleanliness or presentation.
- Partner with the Showroom Merchandiser to ensure displays and product presentation areas remain clean and guest-ready.
- Work collaboratively with Sales and Store Operations teams to maintain presentation standards while minimizing disruption to the Guest Experience.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a team-first approach when supporting store and Company priorities.
Schedule Expectations
- Schedule is based on business needs and may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Schedule may require work before or after normal store operating hours to support showroom readiness and special projects.
- Additional hours may be required during store openings, remodels, major promotional periods, holiday periods, and special events.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the role.
Education & Experience Requirement
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in housekeeping, custodial services, environmental services, hospitality, retail, or a related service environment preferred.
- Experience maintaining high-traffic guest-facing environments preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Ability to work independently and proactively identify areas requiring attention.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
