The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Software Engineering, ITC to lead a talented team of engineers in delivering enterprise-scale technology platforms that power Nike's business operations. In this role, you will be responsible for driving technical excellence, owning the strategic roadmap, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. You will work at the intersection of technology and business, partnering closely with product management, architecture, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver solutions that create meaningful impact.
What You'll Do
- Lead and inspire a team of software engineers, providing mentorship, coaching, and career development opportunities for senior individual contributors
- Own the technical roadmap and delivery for enterprise-scale platforms, ensuring alignment with business objectives and architectural standards
- Drive execution excellence by establishing engineering best practices, quality standards, and efficient delivery processes
- Partner cross-functionally with product management, enterprise architecture, and business stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize initiatives, and deliver solutions
- Make critical technical decisions and trade-offs that balance innovation, scalability, maintainability, and time-to-market
- Build and maintain a high-performing engineering culture that values collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence
- Manage team capacity, resource allocation, and project timelines to ensure successful delivery of commitments
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, dependencies, and blockers that could impact delivery
- Champion engineering standards, code quality, and operational excellence across your team and broader organization
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential application to Nike's technology landscape
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in engineering management or technical leadership roles
- Proven track record of leading teams that deliver enterprise-scale platforms and complex technical solutions
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in modern software development practices, architectures, and technologies
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop senior engineers, fostering their technical growth and career progression
- Experience owning technical roadmaps and translating business requirements into actionable engineering plans
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence and align stakeholders across product, architecture, and business teams
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in making technical decisions under ambiguity
- Experience with agile development methodologies and modern software delivery practices
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
