OpConnect is hiring a hands-on EV Charging Station Technician to help assemble, test, troubleshoot, configure, and support EV charging equipment from its Portland, Oregon location.
This is a great opportunity for someone with an electrical, electromechanical, field service, or technical repair background who wants to build their career in the rapidly growing EV charging industry.
You'll work directly with EV charging hardware, electrical components, diagnostic equipment, software configuration, and network connectivity, while also helping customers troubleshoot charging equipment in the field. EV Charging Station Technician …
What You'll Do
- Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair EV charging stations and electromechanical components.
- Diagnose technical issues using multimeters, test equipment, and hand tools.
- Configure EV charger software settings, communication capabilities, and charging characteristics.
- Prepare and assemble critical components for EV charging stations.
- Troubleshoot building electrical and low-voltage wiring.
- Diagnose connectivity issues involving Wi-Fi routers, cellular modems, switches, and related network equipment.
- Provide remote technical support to EV drivers and charging station owners.
- Follow up with customers on reported issues and coordinate on-site repairs when needed.
- Help package and prepare EV charging equipment for shipment.

What We're Looking For
Preferred
- General Electrician certification/license
- Hands-on experience in field service, electrical work, electromechanical repair, or a related technical environment
- Experience using multimeters, cable crimpers, wire strippers, and electrical hand tools
- Familiarity with building electrical and low-voltage wiring
- Experience troubleshooting Wi-Fi, cellular modems, switches, or other network-connected equipment EV Charging Station Technician
Required / Important for the Role
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Willingness and ability to travel locally up to 25% of the time in any given month, depending on business needs.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills
- Comfortable using mobile devices, laptops, and web-based field service software
- Strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to learn new technologies
- Ability to work independently while representing OpConnect professionally
